Not Second Place but...

I keep erasing posts. I feel like I have too many future things I'm working on and not enough current things to talk about.

Here's a few things that are old news.
Valerie and I ran a 185 mile relay race with 10 of our friends across New York State. It was amazing. I screwed up my knee on mile 15 of my last leg and it's still bothering me. But hey, I ran 15 miles. Pretty cool.
Favorite part 1: Running the FDR bridge at midnight with Tyson. Even though my knee started tightening up, the breeze off the Hudson, the rotating lights of the bridge and running it with a friend were kind of once in a lifetime.

Favorite Part 2: Running with Valerie through the lightless backroads. It added on some extra miles for me but it was gratifying and it was the only time on the race I felt like I could run forever. A few miles later I did not feel like that.

Old News the Second

I've joined with a group of guys who have a film crew. We started filming some web series. The first one we've edited and put up is Army Husbands. A very loose parody of the show Army Wives. (Which I've barely seen.)

Here is the video.

Army Husbands

It won first place at Channel 101 beating the previous 1st place show. Which had held 1st for the last six months. So it was a total shock. This is Channel 101 New York if you want to check it out. (I can't vouch for content but I really like some of this stuff.)

But it got a bit of attention and the Writers Guild is signing me now. I'm pretty excited. It makes me legit. Like a certain MC we all know.

Soooo I'm spending the summer filming and getting together a reel. And writing spec scripts and pilot scripts and all the things that get you to the 'next place'. And with some luck and some hard work, we'll see what happens.

  4. Rockit! Nice work Jimmy. Guild East, right?

Bigtime. All that schoolin' and frenzy-in' are paying off big time. And let's not forget your oversized brain and booming voice.

  5. Thanks, Liz. Well, I hope you like it. Web series are something I really enjoy making. You know, because of my love of sitcoms. They're a nice calling card these days.

    Annie,
Well, downplay it may not be right. Maybe i feel like I'm talking about it a lot more here. I just feel a little overwhelmed with all the things I need to do now that I'm getting some attention. Make a website, film, edit, make a reel, finish a pilot, finish a spec, come visit you in NC...
